Each year, Canal Park comes alive with music, and one of our favorite annual events is the iconic Bayfront Blues Festival. This three-day music fest is celebrating its 33rd year of bringing some of the most talented blues musicians from around the country to the big stage. The Bayfront Blues Festival is also one of the largest outdoor music festivals in the upper Midwest, with more than 30,000 fans celebrating the 30-plus acts on two main stages at Duluth’s Bayfront Festival Park.
Our Duluth Bed and Breakfast is the ideal lodging choice for the music festivals hosted in our area—not only is our location from Canal Park and Bayfront Festival Park perfect, but our welcoming hospitality and accommodations are spectacular. As a guest at our Inn, you’ll enjoy an extensive list of amenities, including an organic, homemade breakfast each morning, complimentary snacks and non-alcoholic beverages, and beautifully appointed guest suites. Our Inn sits on a long, sandy stretch of Lake Superior (recently voted as one of the best beaches in Minnesota!), and you’ll love relaxing in the shade of our award-winning gardens.

Lakefront Views at the Bayfront Blues Festival
The Bayfront Blues Festival 2022 is the weekend of August 12th-14th this year, and the lineup is showcasing a host of talented musicians. This year you’ll see headliners such as the legendary blues group Canned Heat, singer/songwriter Ruthie Foster, and Dwyane Dopsie & the Zydeco Hellraisers. The gates open at 11 am each day of the three-day festival, and the two main stages will be rocking by noon. Be sure to grab your single-day or three-day passes; tickets are on sale now.
The first ever Bayfront Blues Festival took place on a rainy day in 1989 with only about 1,000 attendees and one stage. Over its nearly four-decade run, the festival has grown each year exponentially, bringing more blues fans to the shores of Lake Superior every summer. The 2022 event will have three food vendor options: King of Creams for sandwiches and fried treats, Saigon Cafe serving Asian favorites, and Miller Concessions for your traditional fair food.
Bayfront Festival Park is about a five-minute car ride from our Duluth B&B. If you’re open to exploring on foot, leave your car at the Inn, and you can walk to this event space in about 20 minutes. The footpath leads you across the historic Aerial Lift Bridge to the Canal Park Lake Walk. You’ll also see some of our favorite spots along the way, like the Vikre Distillery and the Great Lakes Aquarium.
